New Hampshire Fall

Sorry about not posting. I have been very busy at work. Finally getting around to photography. My wife and I went up to New Hampshire over the weekend and did some shooting in Fanconia Notch State Park. This is one of the images from that trip. I have included the link to the image at fllickr and Geotagged the image so anyone can see where it was taken.

Very nice, the 1/6 of a second and aperture really made this photo work.
(indeed the possibility to view geotagged photos would be nice to see at Aminus3.)

Beautiful velveting. I like the contrast between the white in the water and the bronze in the rocks.

What is it about trying to capture the wonder of moving water, and all those deep sounds and sparkle that is its very essence, that draws photographers to use a long exposure that flattens and changes it into quite a different thing?...don't know, just a thought.

@CATCHLIGHT: Good question! I think it might be that as a still the silk gives implies a more peaceful experiance. BUT if you combine the whole experiance of sound, the play of light on the drops, smells ect. then you experiance the scene in a differnat way. Just a thought

@Matt Sutton: Just happened to be there! (yeh right). Something I learned from a nature photographer named John Shaw
http://www.johnshawphoto.com/ He would hunt the leaves down and place them on several rocks. even move the rocks to get a better flow to the image.

@red: It is generally hard to get this shot becouse you are on a narrow walk way with a crowd of folks behind you. Happened to be very few people at the park that day!
